WEBAug 30, 2001 · Wearinduced, loose clearances between the rocker arms and shaft allow too much oil upstairs. With only 5/16inch oil return holes in the heads, the oil pan can be starved. The fix is to ream and bush the rocker arms, then turn and hardchrome the shafts. The stock oil pump is adequate.
